UP North Catholic premiers today
Purple Catholic Saturday Post
Good morning and happy Saturday,
I do not have much of a column today as I am prepping for my new program staring tonight on Northern Apostle Radio: UP North Catholic. On this program, I will be discussing many of the things I talk about here but also speaking to some of our young people about their journeys in the Church.
Speaking of which: Pope Leo XIV spent about forty-five minutes doing a live Q&A session with participants at the National Catholic Youth Conference in Indianapolis, Indiana. The questions, perhaps more than the Holy Father’s answers, are telling because they provide a window into what many young Catholics are thinking about. Namely: mental health, engaging with others, and technology. I’ll have more thoughts on this on the second episode of UP North Catholic.
This week, I am talking to Friar Bob Keller, OP. For those of you that have listened to Death Comes for the Archbishop, this will be a bit of a repeat for you. He and I discuss what it is like ministering to college students at my alma mater, Aquinas College.
Don’t forget this Sunday is the Solemnity of Christ the King. As we celebrate this last Sunday in Ordinary Time, we ought to be reflecting on how much we have let Jesus be king over our lives. Is he and his commands secondary to what we want? Are we doing the difficult things he is asking us? Are we totally subject to him?
UP North Catholic begins today on Northern Apostle Radio!
